'CANADIAN SCENERY', Volumes I and II

13226_1.png

'CANADIAN SCENERY', Volumes I and II, by N.P. Willis, Esq, illustrated by W.H. Bartlett, London, published by George Virtue, 26, Ivy Lane, 1842.

First edition of the book called by Sabin the finest of Mr. Bartlett's works.

With handsomely engraved vignette half-titles, engraved map, engraved frontispiece to Vol. I and 116 fine steel-engraved plates with tissue guards after drawings by Bartlett. With bindings of full forest-green leather richly gilt in panels of spines.

A very lovely set, the fine bindings most handsome and well preserved, the text firm and tight, some foxing to the plates. This foxing is normal to the book and is the only defect in an otherwise remarkably presented and preserved copy.
